The MD5 conduit sealing system uses a specially formulated two-component expanding polyurethane resin. Polyurethane sealant is supplied in a two-component cartridge. The two liquid parts are formulated to be mixed 1:1 using the supplied 2K cartridge and mixing nozzle.

After the resin is injected into the cable duct, the resin begins to expand by producing CO². During expansion, the polyurethane resin penetrates all areas between the two foam flanges inside the conduit. MD5 is suitable for all openings, regardless of the shape of the cable duct or well and the configuration of the cable.

Once fully cured, Filoform's two-component resin provides a 100% gas-tight and water-tight seal and offers excellent mechanical strength and rodent resistance. MD5 cable sealant is compatible with common cable jacket materials and PE drinking water pipes. Cured conduit sealant is an inert solid that does not affect any of the materials inside the conduit.

The MD5 system has been designed to support and separate multiple cables in a conduit/conduit using a uniquely designed duplex foam, reducing excess resin expansion from the front of the conduit; This ensures a cleaner surface and installation. The opening of the cable duct does not have to be completely round.

MD5 resin can be installed at temperatures from 5 °C. At lower temperatures, expansion may be slower, but it will expand and cure longer. Expansion time between 8-10 minutes at a temperature between 15-20°C.
Pipes and cables must be as dry as possible free of running water, oil, grease and dirt. MD5 resin can handle small amounts of moisture in pipes or cables, but larger amounts of water will reduce effectiveness.
